When to use BlueCare Anywhere

Online care, also called telehealth, is available at BlueCare Anywhere around the clock, every day of the year. It’s a handy solution for when:

  • You can’t fit a doctor’s visit into your schedule, or you’re having problems making an appointment
  • Your doctor’s office is closed
  • You feel too sick to drive
  • You have children at home and don’t want to bring them to the doctor’s office with you
  • You’re traveling and don’t have access to in-person care (Providers are available and licensed in all 50 states.)

How to use BlueCare Anywhere

All you need is high-speed Internet access, a smartphone, tablet or computer, and a webcam or a built-in camera and audio capability. It’s this simple:

  1. Sign up/log in—just provide your name, email address and a password.
  2. Fill out a brief questionnaire about your symptoms, medications and health history. (First visit only.)
  3. Select the type of provider you want to see.
  4. Choose an available doctor
  5. Pay your cost share. You can use a credit or debit card, flexible spending account or health savings account.
  6. If medication is required, choose a pharmacy near you.
  7. See the doctor, or schedule an appointment. Typical wait times are less than 2 minutes!
  8. Receive a summary of your visit, which you can share with your primary care provider.

When are doctors available?
Services are available 24/7, including weekends and holidays. Visit with a medical professional within minutes of signing in.

How long is a virtual visit?
Typically, about 10 minutes. Your visit may be longer or shorter, depending on your situation.

How much does a visit cost?
The copay amount for a telehealth visit is listed on your Summary of Benefit and Coverage (SBC). To review your SBC, log in to your online member account at azblue.com/member.

What computer system do I need?
For a virtual visit, you will need high-speed Internet access, a smartphone, tablet or computer, and a webcam or a built-in camera and audio capability on your device.

Is there a mobile app I can use?
Yes! Just search for BlueCare Anywhere at the App Store® or on Google PlayTM.

Can the doctors prescribe medication?
Yes. They can consult, diagnose and prescribe medications. Simply choose the pharmacy where you’d like the prescription to be sent.

Can I get a virtual visit if I’m traveling out of state?
Yes. Be sure to select the state you’re in when you sign in. You’ll see only the doctors who are licensed to treat you in that state. Remember to change it back when you get home.

Who are the doctors?
You can see profiles of the doctors when you sign up or log in. They are all U.S. board-certified, licensed and credentialed, with an average of 10 to 15 years of experience.

Do the online doctors have access to my health information?
Yes. The doctor you choose can view the medical history you provide in your profile, such as self-reported conditions, allergies and current medications.

How do my family members access BlueCare Anywhere?
Every person on your health plan is eligible for BlueCare Anywhere and can sign up at BlueCareAnywhereAZ.com or download the mobile app. Children who are on your health plan are also eligible. As their parent or guardian, you can obtain doctor visits on their behalf. You will need to enroll yourself first, and then add your eligible family members or dependents to your account.

What if I have an adult child on my health insurance?
Children aged 18 to 26 who are on your plan should sign up as an adult and create a separate account for themselves.
