We know things are challenging at the moment and that you have plenty to think
about. The good news, though, is you can check healthcare coverage off your

COVID-19 Testing—$0 cost share
BCBSAZ is waiving your copay or coinsurance for COVID-19 diagnostic
testing. Testing must be approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration
(FDA); ordered by a physician (MD/DO), nurse practitioner, physician’s
assistant, or pharmacist; and performed according to guidelines from the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
You also won’t have a copay or coinsurance for any doctor, clinic, or
emergency room visit associated with a COVID-19 test. This $0 out-of-pocket
applies even if your plan has a deductible and you haven’t yet paid the full
COVID-19 Treatment—$0 cost share
BCBSAZ continues to waive all copays, coinsurance, and other cost-sharing
related to COVID-19 treatment received at in-network facilities during the
COVID-19 pandemic crisis.
This means you will pay $0 out of pocket should you or a family member
covered under your BCBSAZ plan need treatment for COVID-19.
Tip! Some employer groups may have chosen different benefits. If you have
coverage through your employer, we suggest checking with your HR
department about costs related to any COVID-19 treatment.
Antibody Testing—$0 cost share, one test per member
All BCBSAZ members have coverage for one antibody test. The test has to be:
- FDA approved or given emergency use approval (EUA) from the
- Ordered by a physician (MD/DO), nurse practitioner, physician
assistant, or pharmacist; and
- Conducted at a qualified lab. At-home tests are not covered.
We are waiving all cost sharing for antibody tests that meet these guidelines.
That means you’ll pay $0 out of pocket.
- You can have an early refill of 30-day prescriptions you take through June
10. In most cases, the early refills apply to prescriptions you take for a longterm
or chronic condition.
- You can receive a 90-day supply of a medication if your plan offers mailorder
pharmacy benefits, and you sign up for this service. Many of our plans
also cover 90-day supplies purchased at retail pharmacies. You can check

Nurse Advice and Online Doctor Visits
When you have questions or concerns about COVID-19 or another illness, we
have resources for you:
- Nurse On Call service
Call 1-866-422-2729 any time of the day or night to speak with a registered
nurse. There is no cost to use Nurse On Call.
- Telemedicine visits
A telemedicine visit is a virtual doctor’s visit that happens using your
computer, tablet, or mobile device. When we say “telemedicine,” we are
talking about telemedicine, telehealth, and tele-dentistry. Through July 31,
2020, you’ll pay $0 out of pocket for telemedicine visits at in-network
- First, check with your regular primary care provider (PCP) or any
other in-network BCBSAZ provider to see if you can schedule a
telemedicine visit. Most doctor offices are now offering telemedicine—
even if they didn’t before—so it’s a good idea to call and check. It’s
always best to see a doctor you know and trust, and who knows your

BCBSAZ members to board-certified doctors by live video. BlueCare
